This shunt is popular because a simple digital volt meter (sold separately) may be used with it for amp readings at these higher currents. For example, a digital volt meter will display 1mv for every 10 Amps traveling through this shunt. For example, a digital multimeter will read 38mV when the shunt has 380 Amps running through it.
It's current rating is high enough for many Electric Vehicle applications without damaging it's calibration (due to over-heating). |
